Founder and CEO of Bioalgoritmia

Biologist from the Faculty of Sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and Master in Computer Science from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM). His interests include machine learning, bio-inspired algorithms, and computational statistics, as well as ecology, biogeography, and biological evolution. He has experience as an advisor and consultant in development and international cooperation projects, as well as in research and teaching. Passionate about artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and sustainability. Through Bioalgoritmia, Salvador aims to contribute to the fight against climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss.

Adrián Reuter

Senior Biodiversity Advisor

With over 35 years of experience in wildlife management, Adrián Reuter is a multilingual biologist from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) with postgraduate studies in Animal Biology (UNAM) and International Biodiversity Management (International University of Andalusia, Spain). He has expertise in applied research, conservation, and teaching. Reuter has collaborated with the UK government, UNODC, and has served as an instructor on wildlife trade and trafficking prevention. After 15 years leading TRAFFIC Mesoamerica, from April 2016 to February 2023, he worked as Coordinator and Senior Advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), focusing on strategies to combat illegal wildlife trade.

Octavio Gutiérrez

Computer Science Researcher - Artificial Intelligence Expert

J. Octavio Gutiérrez-García received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from CINVESTAV and the Grenoble Institute of Technology, respectively. Before becoming a full-time researcher, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology. The Mexican Council of Science and Technology has recognized him as a Level-2 member of the National System of Researchers. He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed research articles. His research interests include computational intelligence, distributed artificial intelligence, distributed systems, and human-computer interaction.

Edgar Francisco Román Rangel

Computer Science Researcher - Artificial Intelligence Expert

Edgar Roman-Rangel is a full-time researcher specializing in Representation Learning, Computer Vision, and Cross-Modal Signal Processing, applied to cultural heritage and societal challenges. He is a Level-1 member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers. From 2013 to 2017, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Geneva’s CVM-Lab, with a break in 2014–2015 as a visiting researcher at the National Institute of Anthropology and History of Mexico (INAH). He earned his Ph.D. from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL, Switzerland) in 2013 for his work in computer vision and machine learning applied to the analysis of imagery of Mayan hieroglyphs.
